Fighting a full on power blush, Bridgette bit her lip and stared at the naked man, strategically holding a bouquet of flowers and waiting at the threshold of her apartment door. Standing gloriously tall, lean, and built in all the right places, Geoff, the gorgeous tenant in room 206, was a whole lot of yummy. So much that she was having a hard time remembering her manners to invite her knight-without-armor in. A small pile of clothes lay at his feet, and she got a good look at all he had to offer.
Moments ago, he had responded to her bloodcurdling scream and barged unexpectedly into her bathroom, to catch her cowering in the buff on top of her toilet seat, her left hand pointing at a large ugly spider that had taken up residence in her bathtub. Thanks to Geoff’s quick, chivalrous act, the hairy, eight-legged misery was now at the bottom of the alley behind their apartment building.
Then, he did what any sensible man who had caught his would-be-date without a stitch on would do: beg her pardon and leave. Only Geoff didn’t go far. She could only imagine what went on through his mind. To level the playing field, he’d gone back into the hallway, stripped down to his skivvies, and rang her doorbell like any other hopeful suitor.
The irony was, she had taken the time to get dressed before answering the door, and now he was the one without a stitch on. Her gaze lingered on his prominent erection peering up at her. Not only was he gallant, breathtakingly handsome, and brave, he was clearly turned-on by the situation he’d found himself in.
What do you do with a naked stranger? She feared if she suggested he put his clothes on, he may feel insulted, yet she wasn’t about to jump into bed with a stranger, was she? Other than a few nosey inquiries to the other tenants, she knew nothing about him. Everyone said he was nice, some said he was charming, and the lady across the hall claimed he was a real hunk, but Bridgette already knew that.
For a lack of experience in the sort of situation she found herself in, she did the only natural thing when a visitor came over: invite them in for tea.
